Leoni continues its expansion in Tunisia

Present in Tunisia for nearly 50 years, the German group Leoni plans to continue its expansion projects in several regions of the country, thus confirming its lasting commitment to the Tunisian automotive components industry.

This prospect was raised during a meeting held on Monday, August 24, between Salah Zouari, Minister of On this occasion, the leader presented the group's activities as well as its development prospects, including the continuation of several extension projects.

Established in Tunisia since 1977, Leoni has gradually developed several product units The group now employs nearly 30,000 people in the country and plays a major role in the international value chains of the automotive industry, as well as in the electrical and electronics sectors.

Leoni's development is part of the dynamics of a Tunisian automotive sector in full consolidation. According to the Tunisian Automotive Association (TAA), more than 280 companies operate today in the automotive and components industry, with an export volume that approaches 4 billion euros and about 120,000 jobs.

This dynamic continues to attract new international investment. Last May, the Chinese group Taikang Electronics announced its plans to set up in Sousse, with the creation of its first factory abroad, dedicated in particular to the production of automotive electronic components and expected to generate 300 direct jobs.
