Tunisia marked its presence at IAA TRANSPORTATION Hannover 2026, highlighting the diversity, industrial expertise and innovation capacity of its automotive and mobility ecosystem.
Through a collective presence supported by the Tunisian Automotive Association (TAA) and the Mecatronic Tunisia Cluster, with the support of GIZ Tunisia, PLU Wacef Chibani, Ambassador of Tunisia to Germany, whose presence provided valuable support to the Tunisian delegation.
His Excellency also took part in the VIP Tour, alongside Tunisian exhibitors and representatives of VDA, AAAM and GIZ, promoting exchanges around Tunisia's industrial potential, its automotive ecosystem and opportunities for cooperation in Marius Ochel (VDA) and Ms. Victoria Backhaus-Jerling, CEO of the African Association of Automotive Manufacturers (AAAM).
The exchanges brought together African and international stakeholders around several strategic issues for the sector, including:
- the development of the African automotive industry;
- the resilience of value chains;
, Ambassador of Tunisia to Germany, also took the floor to highlight the importance of strengthening international industrial partnerships and Tunisia's cooperation with its partners.The Tunisian perspective was carried by Mr. Ibrahim Debache, representing the TAA, who contributed to the exchanges dedicated to the Tunisian automotive ecosystem and its potential role in the development of African automotive value chains.
The discussions also benefited from the intervention of Mr. Felix Sarrazin of GIZ Tunisia, who shared perspectives on opportunities to support industrial cooperation and the development of resilient automotive ecosystems.
